I just can't see, if mechanics stay as we know it, Archeon/Belakor leading a full army of chaos "organically". So basically my opinion is that it is better to bend the lore for gameplay purposes. By not taking into account position and economic power it leads for these revolt to be annoying rather than a threat.īasically while vassalage makes lore sense in a total war is just doesn't work as expected. With the AI easily choosing to declare independence if the overlord loses 2 or 3 armies quickly. vassals have to much focus on their overlord military power. vassals lose their autoresolve bonus becoming weaker than normal AI factions vassals usually won't move their armies to defend the overlord vassals can declare war on enemy factions vassals can fight each other but force you to give independence to one AI doesn't leave their armies near enemy settlements so they can reinforce your turn AI rarely wants to give/sell/trade settlements Unless you pay a shit ton of money However right now we have the following problems: If CA took the massive effort to make the Warhammer AI closer to a PDS game then maybe I would agree with Vassalage. Worse there is a risk that your vassal "steals" the land you really need to conquer because there is no way to tell the AI, this is mine. As Archeon even if you vassalize most of the chaos factions you will never be able to have those chars fight alongside you consistently. In total war cooperating with AI is bothersome. For example in PDS games usually AI can follow you around or lead you into victories. Better that CA use their resources on other new stuff and leave stuff like this for the community to solve IMO.Ĭlick to shrink.Vassalage makes sense if the AI could play with you. Not saying that there are no ways to navigate this, but I'm personally fine with what we are getting - if there's no weird hard stoppers preventing confederation this will be modded almost immediately anyway. most importantly, I don't think we'd ever gotten a WoC-rework of this magnitude if it wasn't tied to a DLC => hence probably they wanted to make the most out of that and put these champions with WoC (- and from a lore-perspective I guess it wouldn't make sense for Azazel to have access to Khorne units etc.) they also have unique tech trees (which I'd guess will boost Slaanesh-units for Azazel and so on) => there again might be some issues in that respect Azazel with the Slaaneshi stuff etc.) => how would/should that then work when you have a Khorne follower joining you? the 4 champions will have some access to their patron gods unique mechanics (i.e.
